AWARDS

The Good Design Award is a comprehensive design recommendation system that is organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion. It was started in 1957 by the Japan Patent Office. After being affectionately called the “G Mark System” when it was organized by the International Trade and Industry (former organization of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), it was renamed the “Good Design Award” in 1988. For over half a century, the award has served as a barometer for good designs that enrich life, industries, as well as society as a whole.

“GOOD DESIGN” is a design awards program organized by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. It was founded in 1950 by architect-cum-designer Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, and Edgar Kaufmann, Jr., who was a curator at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. It is a prestigious award that has the longest history among design awards in the world.

The iF DESIGN AWARD is organized by the iF International Forum Design Hannover in Germany. Founded in 1953, it has the longest history among design awards in Europe. It is considered to be one of the world's big three design awards. For the discipline of “Product” design, products with excellence in designs, functionality, innovations, etc. are presented awards.

The Red Dot Design Award is organized by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Germany. Each year, innovative and excellent designs from around the world are presented awards for the categories of “Product Design”, “Communication Design”, and “Design Concept.” It has been recognized as the biggest and the most prestigious design award in the world.

The Red Dot: Best of the Best is awarded for groundbreaking design and is the top prize in the Red Dot Awards. Winning of the “Best of the Best” prize proves that the product is highly recognized both in design and engineering. Rare and valuable, honorable award.

The Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany was founded in 1953 under the auspices of the German Ministry for Economic and Energy. Winning designs are chosen by the German Design Council. It is a design award program for products which have already won international design awards. It can be described as the “Champions League of design awards.”
